Philippine Pride Jan Francis Alinsonorin Shines at Karaoke World Championships 2024 World Finals in Finland

Upcoming Filipino singing sensation Jan Francis Alinsonorin brought pride to the Philippines as he clinched a Top 11 finish at the prestigious Karaoke World Championships (KWC) World Finals held in Logomo Turku, Finland, from October 7 to 12, 2024. 

The Karaoke World Championships has long been a prestigious platform for discovering raw talent, and the 2024 edition in Turku was no exception. Participants from different cultures and nations gathered not only to compete but also to show their amazing talents to the world and to give the audience an unforgettable experience. Each performance reflected the diversity and uniqueness of each country, turning the stage into a vibrant melting pot of global talent.

The week-long event kicked off with a Parade and Welcome Party on October 7, uniting participants from over 50 countries around the world to celebrate music, camaraderie, and international diversity. The evening was filled with excitement as finalists, including Jan Francis Alinsonorin, paraded with their national flags, proudly representing their countries. “It was surreal,” Alinsonorin shared. “Marching with the Filipino flag and hearing the cheers made me feel proud and grateful to stand among other aspiring singers from all over the world.”

The preliminary rounds of the KWC World Finals took place on the following days. On Tuesday, October 8, Alinsonorin delivered a powerful rendition of Queen’s iconic “Bohemian Rhapsody.” His performance captivated the audience and judges alike, showcasing his vocal range, control, and stage presence. 

On Thursday, October 10, Alinsonorin returned to the stage for the second round, delivering a heartfelt rendition of the classic ballad “Just Once.” His heartfelt performance showcased his versatility and vocal prowess, impressing the judges and securing his place in the next round of the competition. 

The third and final preliminary round saw Alinsonorin deliver a captivating performance of “Lay Me Down,” a contemporary pop song that allowed him to showcase his versatility as a singer. His rendition was both energetic and emotive, leaving the audience and judges thoroughly impressed.

In addition to their solo performances, all KWC finalists came together to sing the iconic Queen song “We Are The Champions,” which perfectly captured the spirit of the event. This group performance served as a reminder of the unity and camaraderie that brought them together from all corners of the globe.

Ultimately, Jan Francis Alinsonorin’s journey at the Karaoke World Championships culminated in a remarkable Top 11 finish. His passion, dedication, and talent shone brightly on the international stage, leaving a positive mark in the hearts of many. Though he narrowly missed the top spots, Alinsonorin’s achievement is a significant milestone, not only for himself but for the Philippines.

Aside from the intense competition, this week-long event also allowed Alinsonorin as well as other participants to immerse themselves in Finnish culture. They explored the picturesque city of Turku and bonded with fellow contestants, adding depth to their musical journeys and forging friendships beyond borders. “Turku is amazing—the culture, the atmosphere, the scenic views, and the people. I even got to try Finnish food, which was a fun experience. The weather was cold, but the warmth of your support made up for it,” said Alinsonorin as he shared his experience. 

Jan Francis Alinsonorin reaching the KWC World Finals was the culmination of hard work and dedication, beginning with his journey at the KWC Philippines auditions. His victory at the national level paved the way for this unforgettable experience in Finland. “This is a dream come true, not just for me but for everyone who believed in me,” said Alinsonorin. 

While the competition has ended, Alinsonorin’s journey as an artist continues. He expressed his plans to further hone his skills, explore new musical opportunities, and, perhaps, prepare for future competitions. As Jan Francis Alinsonorin returns to the Philippines, he carries not just a trophy for his accomplishment, but a heart full of memories and a renewed sense of purpose. “This is just the beginning,” Alinsonorin added. “I’m excited to bring everything I’ve learned and experienced here back to the Philippines and hopefully inspire others to pursue their dreams, no matter how distant they may seem”.
