I am both thrilled and humbled to stand before you today as a finalist in the BCBA Best Cebu Blog Awards for the Event Blog category. Being recognized in this prestigious event, not just once but again this year, feels like a dream. It’s a moment of gratitude, pride, and renewed inspiration for me to continue sharing stories that celebrate the beautiful progress and development of Cebu.

First and foremost, I want to express my heartfelt gratitude to my readers, without whom this journey would never have been possible. Your unwavering support, engagement, and encouragement have meant everything to me. Every comment, every share, every moment you spent reading my posts has brought me here, and I am forever thankful for your trust in my words and vision.

My blog started in the simplest of ways. I began writing in 2012 when I was a student, finding joy in sharing my experiences and perspectives on Cebu’s events and growth. What started as a small personal project slowly gained traction, bringing new readers and friendships into my life.

Blogging has helped me grow, not just in my writing but as a person and a professional. It has pushed me to be consistent, to always improve, and to dive deeper into the stories that make Cebu so unique.

And last year, to my delight, this blog won the same category in the BCBA. That recognition was a milestone that filled me with pride and gratitude.

Now, here I am again, as a finalist for the 2024 awards. This moment feels like a breakthrough—a testament to how far this journey has come and how much further I hope to go. Being a finalist this year reinforces my commitment to continue sharing Cebu’s story, covering its events, growth, and vibrant culture with passion and authenticity.

For me, blogging has always been more than just writing; it’s about connecting. It’s about bringing people together to celebrate Cebu’s ongoing progress, to reflect on the events that shape our city, and to build a stronger community. I blog out of a genuine love for Cebu, driven by a deep interest in showcasing its unique identity, its history, and its bright future.

As a finalist in this year’s BCBA, I am filled with gratitude and inspiration to keep going. Thank you once again for believing in this blog, and for being a part of this journey. The Best Cebu Blogs Awards (BCBA) is a yearly Awarding Ceremony of Cebu-based Bloggers. BCBA is the only and pioneering award-giving body that recognizes the existence of blogs, bloggers, and social media influencers or movers in Cebu’s blogosphere. It acknowledges the existence and importance of Cebu Bloggers in the Visayas and in the Philippines. BCBA aims to recognize the finest blogs by Cebuanos and Cebu-based bloggers which are at par even with their foreign counterparts.

Best Cebu Blogs Awards is organized and handled by Blogger Volunteers headed by Cebu Bloggers Society Inc. Founder Mark M. Monta. Judges for the Best Cebu Blogs Awards By Niches are changing every year. Most of them came from Manila, Cagayan De Oro, Ilo-ilo, General Santos, Davao, and of course, a home-based judge here in Cebu.
