4th Mandaue–Mactan Bridge to Rise in 2026
The highly anticipated 4th Mandaue–Mactan Bridge is moving closer to reality, with construction targeted to begin in the third quarter of 2026. The landmark infrastructure project is expected to transform transportation across Metro Cebu by connecting Mandaue City, Lapu-Lapu City, and the northern municipalities of Liloan and Consolacion.
Designed as one of the most ambitious road networks in Cebu to date, the project aims to ease traffic congestion, improve accessibility, and support long-term economic growth in the region.
Expanding Connectivity Across Metro Cebu
The 4th Mandaue–Mactan Bridge will serve as a vital link between key economic and residential zones. One of its primary connections will run from the Mandani Bay area in Mandaue City to the northern towns of Liloan and Consolacion through an integrated network of bypass and diversion roads.
The project will also introduce a direct route from Cansaga to Lapu-Lapu City via the Mandaue Coastal Road, creating a seamless travel corridor between mainland Cebu and Mactan Island.
With these connections, officials expect a significant reduction in traffic congestion on existing bridges, while also improving mobility for commuters, businesses, and logistics.
Construction Timeline and Project Scope
Construction is scheduled to begin in Q3 2026, pending the completion of final engineering designs and alignment plans.
The full project will be officially known as the:
Cebu–Mactan 4th Bridge with Mandaue–Consolacion–Liloan Diversion Road and Mandaue Coastal Road
This integrated infrastructure system goes beyond a single bridge—combining multiple road networks to create a more efficient and future-ready transport system for Metro Cebu.
Driving Economic Growth and Urban Development
