PHL Furniture Furnishing Market holds Cebu roadshow

Ahead of its highly-awaited 2024 edition set in July, the Philippine Furniture Furnishings Market (PFFM) goes to Cebu—the Furniture Capital of the Philippines—on March 13 to stage a roadshow and provide industry stakeholders with valuable insights and networking opportunities.

Cebu’s furniture industry has long recognized as a powerhouse, renowned for its craftsmanship, innovation, and quality by skilled artisans and designers. With a rich heritage and a tradition of excellence, Cebu continues to lead the way in producing furniture and furnishings that are highly sought here and abroad.

Featured in the roadshow were (from left): Harold See, Central Visayas – Chapter President of the Subdivision and Housing Developers Association (SHDA); Architect and Furniture Designer Jed Yabut; Philip Yap, Cross Platform Designer of CDN Worldwide Limited; Benito “Bong” Bengzon Jr., Executive Director of the Philippine Hotel Owners Association (PHOA); Zilahi Imre, Chairman of the International Alliance of Furnishing Publications (IAFP) Romania; Dexter Deyto, President, SmartPlay Events and Solutions; and Vicky Tan, Project Director of Derrisen Sdn Bhd, organizer of PFFM.

The roadshow precedes the main event slated on July 4 to 6, at the SMX Convention Center Manila, Pasay City. Through this effort, the PFFM invites interested parties to join its Hosted Buyers Program, which provides individuals representing relevant industries with the opportunity to connect with leading suppliers and explore potential business collaborations.

Hosted buyers will have access to exclusive networking opportunities and pre-arranged business meetings with participating furniture and furnishings suppliers. Eligible participants will receive a minimum of one night of free hotel accommodation and shuttle service to and from the event venue, ensuring a seamless and comfortable PFFM experience.

In addition to introducing the Hosted Buyers Program, the Cebu roadshow brings together key players from the furniture industry and affiliated sectors for informed discussions and engagements on the Cebu business landscape, the Philippine housing sector, the tourism and hotel industry, and design and furniture trends.

Speakers include Wendell Gahinhin, Vice President for Finance of the Cebu Chamber of Commerce and Industry; Harold See, Central Visayas – Chapter President of the Subdivision and Housing Developers Association (SHDA), Benito “Bong” Bengzon Jr., Executive Director of the Philippine Hotel Owners Association (PHOA), Architect and Furniture Designer Jed Yabut, Philip Yap, Cross Platform Designer of CDN Worldwide Limited, and Zilahi Imre, Chairman of the International Alliance of Furnishing Publications (IAFP) Romania.

“We are excited to bring a taste of PFFM to Cebu and provide industry professionals with a platform to engage with the latest innovations in the furniture and furnishings industry,” said Vicky Tan, Project Director of Derrisen Sdn Bhd.

The PFFM aims to be the premiere global platform for the furniture industry, featuring around 100 international furniture and furnishings companies from China, Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam, and Europe, and Filipino manufacturers.

Exhibitors will showcase the latest innovations in home furniture, outdoor furniture, office and commercial furniture, home décor, and lifestyle products, offering attendees a comprehensive overview of the industry’s latest offerings.

The PFFM is organized by Derrisen Sdn Bhd and supported by the Association of Purchasing Managers of Hotels & Restaurants of the Philippines (APMHRP), the Hotel and Restaurant Association of the Philippines (HRAP), the Philippine Hotel Owners Association (PHOA), the Subdivision and Housing Developers Association (SHDA), and the United Architects of the Philippines (UAP).
